The West London Weekend Gasshuku
Saturday, 9th and 6th May 2015

Sensei Nigel Thomas is pleased to invite all EGKA members to a weekend of training to be led by Sensei Ernie Molyneux assisted by Sensei Nigel and Sensie Steve Walley.

Change of Venue on Saturday

Owing to reasons beyond our control, we have had to change the venue on Saturday to:

The school is in a residential area. Although there are no parking restrictions, please allow extra time to park as spaces can be difficult to find.

Training on Sunday is still at the original venue:

Saturday 9th May:

Adults/Cadets: 12:00 - 16:00
Juniors: 12:00 - 14:00
Warm up and basics followed by three rotating sessions on:
(1) pad and bag techniques;
(2) ground work; and
(3) grade appropriate Kumite drills and Kata work.

Sunday 10th May:

Adult/Cadets: 10:00 - 13:00
Warm up and basics followed by three rotating sessions on:
(1) pad and bag techniques in the boxing gym;
(2) ground work in the judo hall with fully matted floor; and
(3) grade appropriate Kumite drills and Kata work.

Please bring mits and shin pads. Programme subject to change at the discretion of the instructors.

Cost:

Sat Junior class: £10
Sat Cadet class: £15
Sat Adult class: £20

Sun Adult/Cadet class: £20

Both days Cadet: £30
Both days Adult: £40

Fees are payable on the day. Please bring the right amount of money. Family concessions apply (First two highest pay, rest go at 50%).

Refreshments:

There are no cafe facilities on site. Although there are drink vending machines it is advisable that you bring your own food and drink refreshments. There are a few shops close to the venue including a Co-op store.

Venue:

HCC is a historic building, completed in the mid-19th Century. Its purpose and role has changed over the years from a poor school and workhouse to, at one time, the home of entertainer Charlie Chaplin. During the 1960s, rock band, The Who played there. It is now run by Ealing Council and is home to several small businesses and martial arts clubs, including, Judo and Kung-Fu as well as a boxing club. There is a free car park available for 50 vehicles at the front of the building, as well as unrestricted street parking around the entrance area.

Directions

HCC is easily accessed from the A40 Western Avenue it can also be reached via rail on Saturday. The nearest railway station is Castle Bar Park which connects to London Paddington (No Sunday service). The E1 and E11 buses run to and from Ealing Broadway tube station (Central Line).
