What happens when you sign up as a completely new EGKA member
In the next step you will be asked to complete a simple questionnaire that will help us collect the information we need to register you as a completely new member of the EGKA.
When you submit your online form, you will receive in due course a confirmation email that our database has been updated.
In 2012 we intend to launch an online payment system which will allow new members to both register and pay their annual subscription in one smooth operation. For the moment, however, new members are requested to both register online, and send in a postal application. You can read more about the postal application and download the registration form by clicking here.
Once you account is activated you will be able to access your account and keep us informed of your development as you move up through the grades and any changes in your contact details. The system will also email you in the month before your EGKA membership is due to expire to remind you to renew. You can either choose to renew by cheque in the post, or pay online. We will soon accept most credit and debit cards.
Once you have created an online account, it provides you with third party and accident insurance cover on any occasion you are training under the supervision of one of our recognised Instructors or Assistant Instructors at an EGKA dojo or EGKA organised and sanctioned event.
Family memberships
We are pleased to offer a discount to members of the same immediate family. The offer is restricted to the two adult parents and any number of their children under the age of 18. It will be necessary to create a separate record for each family member, and you will need to nominate one individual to be the lead-family member to receive the annual fee reminder in future years.

FAQ:
Q. What happens if I can´t access the Internet or don´t wish to register my details online?
A. We appreciate you may not always have convenient access to the Internet, or perhaps you do not wish to post your personal details online. Completing the online registration form will help us as an Association to better manage our membership, but it is not mandatory for you to complete the online form. We will continue to provide an alternative method of applying for membership by post. For further details on how to apply for membership by post click here.
Q. If I have to apply for new membership in the post, what is the point of completing the online registration form?
A. The main advantage to you of registering online is that it gives you instant insurance cover. A postal application will delay the point at which EGKA insurance cover commences for you. The other advantage is that it provides you with a convenient way of keeping us and your local dojo instructor informed of any changes in your contact information. Over the coming months we will also be better placed to keep you informed of local, regional and national EGKA events. We have no intention of overloading your inbox with masses of irrelevant news, but the new online membership system will certainly help us to communicate much more effectively with our membership.
