EGKA Winter Gasshuku Weekend on the 4th & 5th December 2021

We look forward to greeting you at the EGKA training and IOGKF grading weekend that begins at 12:00 on Saturday, 4th December 2021.

Coronavirus Update - A message from Sensei Ernie:

There will be no restrictions at this event but in line with government guidelines caution is advised.
Sensei has advised that if you wish to wear a mask then please do so. If you do not want to make contact then that is okay even for grading however you will be expected to mimic all aspects of the grading that other candidates are performing during the grading.

Saturday Training Session:

12:00 to 16:00 - All adult/cadet grades

Saturday Grading Registration

16:00 to 16:30 - Grading registration comfirmation for adult grading candidates

Sunday Training Times:

09:00 to 12:00 - All junior, cadet and adult grades

All students intending to grade on Sunday must attend the Saturday training sessions and adults must attend the Sunday morning training session.

Grading: Sunday afternoon

12:30 - 12:50 Written examination (Shodan to Sandan) (Yondan & Godan essay to Sensei Ernie prior to gasshuku)
13:00 - 16:00 Grading

Training Fees:

Juniors (<13yrs or younger) £15 £15 £25

Family concession: Only first two highest fee-paying members of the immediate family pay - the others train for free.

Grading Registration Process - Please read carefully.

Please ensure that you have pre-registered via your instructor to Sensei Ernie and the pre-registration form by the 13th November 2021 with the following detail:
Name.
Junior or Adult.
Current Grade.
Date Grade obtained.
Test Grade.
Retest Y/N.
All Dan grading candidates must have submitted a brief karate CV.
All candidates MUST have attended at least two EGKA courses in the 12 months prior to their grading (this Winter Gasshuku does not count if you are grading). Tournaments do count for Juniors and Cadets (under 18 years).

Grading Forms

Grading registration for all candidates will be 16:00-16:30 on Saturday.  You will need your completed form, licence book and fee.

Please retain your grading form and bring it with you to hand to the secretary at the Saturday registration.

Grading Fees

Candidates will need to be pre-registered and pre-pay for their grading as directed in the registration process. For administrative reasons the EGKA are following a cashless event with pre-registration however should you be unable to grade then a grading fee refund will be given.

Please bring the correct registration form and membership book to double check your grading requirements..

Grading fees will not be refunded if a student does not pass. That student will be given a 50% reduction in the grading fee when they retest at either of the next two grading sessions.

Every person applying to grade must ensure their EGKA membership will remain in force up to date of the grading weekend.
